What are you grateful for?
Do you ever stop to think in your busy schedule of things that you are thankful or grateful for?
It’s easy to get caught up in life and never come up to smell the roses. We can often go through life having bad days, moaning about them, feeling angry and frustrated by them.. But what if we thought about those days and before we head to bed we think of 3 things that day we had been grateful for?
After a bad day it can really redirect your thoughts it flips that switch and allows you to feel calmer.
Bringing the Family Together
A great way is to get all the family involved over the dinner table to all go around and say what has been good about your day, what have you been grateful for, what did you learn today..
Or if like me I prefer to have a notebook and pen next to the bed and just reflect on the day and jot down my thoughts feelings and 3 things that day I am grateful for.
It allows you to drift off more easily as your mind isn’t racing thinking about all the bad things that happened that day or all the things you need to get done the next day etc..
Its not woo woo
Gratitude journals are not woo woo there is some real scientific evidence around this and people that make it a regular practice. it has been noted you’ll be less depressed, happier and journalling will become a habit.
Research undertaken by the university of manchester found that people that focussed on gratitude slept better and also had more energy and increased focus!
