Diets Don’t Work

What we aim to do at TLS is find a safe effective and long term plan for you that fit’s your own personal needs.
We want you to lose body fat not water weight, we want you to build muscle and keep muscle, burning off excess fat not burning off muscle.
Steady Eddie wins the race, there is no 2 week plan to shred to look good for that last minute holiday you’ve booked that is safe effective and sustainable.
So the word we choose is LIFESTYLE, we want to burn excess fat whilst retaining lean muscle tissue.
We also don’t rely on the number on the scales. To us you are more than a number and that applies to when you walk through the door to the number on the scales.
We have to consider a fair few other factors when looking at this LIFESTYLE plan, from how you eat, how you train, toxicity levels, hormone status, stress and sleep hygiene.
Your body is an amazing vessel and we have to learn to fuel, MOT and service the vessel to run optimally.
What we also have to think about with “diets” is our body fat % the higher the body fat % the higher the risk of Diabetes, Stroke and Heart Disease so it’s not necessarily the number on the scales BMI which is pretty outdated but our body fat % is what we need to focus on.
So the next time you are tempted to jump feet first in to a new diet, ask yourself, if it is sustainable, if it fits your lifestyle, does it address lifestyle factors, Hormones, stress etc? and remember slowly slowly wins!!
